Gwynn's Island Real Wedding

I had the privilege of being a guest at Breck and Ellie’s stunning wedding – and I couldn’t wait to share the amazing pictures from Laura Gordon with you! It was really hard to pick out pictures for this post because I’m friends with both of them and at least half of the guests at the wedding, so of course I loved them all!

Breck and Ellie got engaged at her family’s summer home on Gwynn’s Island in Virginia so they decided to get married there as well. It is such a perfect choice; the home is beautiful, the views are stunning, and the night before the wedding they hosted a meet and greet cocktail party, which is a brilliant idea because then everyone from both sides got to know each other before the big day.

The details at this wedding were perfection. It had a rustic chic vibe and a little bit of an ‘Anthropologie’ thing going on. Antique books, glass window panes for the menu, wooden and tin planters along the reception tables – amazing!

The food was outstanding. I (and I noticed I wasn’t the only one) followed the lady around with the soft shell crab platter like a puppy dog. Fresh salad, oysters, crab cakes, local vegetables – it was an amazing meal.

‘Mismatched but matched’ bridesmaids dresses are all the rage right now and these ladies couldn’t have pulled it off more perfectly:

You know that  nervous moment when you’re at a wedding and you’ve had a few drinks…and the band starts up and you’re sort of praying that they’re good so that you can get your groove on? The band at Breck and Ellie’s wedding was absolutely amazing. Blue Tips Rhythm Revue rocked Motown classics all night long, and everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) danced the night away.

And, to cap off the most perfect night ever – fireworks!
