Halloween Wedding

I’m in love with this quirky Halloween themed wedding that was submitted by the bride, Taylor. It’s just filled with fun and personality, and that look Corey is giving in the shot above? Priceless! Taylor had this to say: “Corey and I have been together since November of 2006. We knew fairly early on in our relationship that we were in it for the long-haul. He was the gregarious and energetic fellow and I was the mild-mannered bookworm. We complimented each other, and continue to do so. We got engaged on December 10, 2007, just over a year after we started dating.

Corey and I got married on October 29, 2011. We have always loved the Autumn and Halloween is our favourite holiday. We knew from the day we got engaged that we would have a fall wedding.

We have always had a fondness for the darker side of history, which is why we wanted our photos done in the graveyard. The idea of celebrating the start of our lives together in the presence of those long passed was strangely appealing. To walk through two of the oldest cemeteries in the Langley area was both beautiful and haunting, and it was lovely to have our pictures taken in those locations.

There is a mysticism and childish sense of wonder to the Halloween season that both of us share. A time of curious happenings and fantastic stories. What better time to have a wedding? Beautiful colours and unique decorations were easy to come by and resonated with us. The jack-o-lantern husband and wife standing next to our wedding cake, grinning warmly at our guests helped remind everyone about the subtle theme of the day.

It would have been easy to have everyone dress up, but the classic feel felt more appropriate to the day. Halloween goes beyond the typical ghouls and ghosts, and touches on something older. Graveyards and jack-o-lanterns were our way of showcasing just that.”
