english countryside wedding (reader request)

english countryside wedding

We’ve got another reader requested wedding inspiration board today! Woohoo! Frida wrote and asked for something rustic, romantic, vintage, DIY, simple, and with a country tone to it. As for colors, she wants to work with creams, leafy greens, different shades of brown, and touches of lilac. Frida is Sweedish and Jeremy is British so this adorable couple is getting married next September in Jeremy’s village in the UK even though they are both currently living in France.

For Frida’s bridal look she can go with a vintage style dress with lots of embellishment to glam up the country feeling of her wedding. Flower hair accessories, lilac shoes, and English roses for her bouquet would also be lovely touches!

Frida and Jeremy are getting married in the village’s church and then having their reception under a marquee on the local cricket lawn. They can use white and cream colored florals with lots of leafy green mixed in and incorporate vintage watering cans filled with flowers to scatter around the lawn underneath the marquee. For a romantic look for the reception tables Frida and Jeremy should use long fresh flower table runners that hang all the way to the ground. Flower girls and bridesmaids would look lovely in lilac, and as a nod to their current home in France, a sparkly DIY ‘bonjour’ sign would be a nice touch! Since Frida and Jeremy both work in the entertainment industry they want to make sure they have a really good party while incorporating details from both of their cultures. One great way to do this is to choose two signature cocktails – one that is British and one that is Swedish!

Frida and Jeremy are clearly an international duo so adding some vintage travel touches would be a lovely detail. Use old suitcases for guests to leave cards in and create a DIY sign for it saying ‘love notes.’ Another nice travel-y touch would be to use either vintage European postcards or airmail envelopes as escort cards!

  1. Not because I’m biased (okay, I totally am) but the board with my post image is my fave of these! Loving that garland on the table and glitter + “Bonjour”, is what you call wedding envy 🙂
