When Lindsay first emailed me with her color choices I wasn’t sure what to do! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wedding that combines charcoal, porcelain, emerald, copper, AND lavender – but once I got started putting together these wedding inspiration boards for her this unique combination really won me over. Isn’t it beautiful!?
Lindsay and Andres are getting married near Austin at a lake and plan on having a tented reception. She let me know right away that they want to use wine bottles as part of their centerpieces and for the color emerald, she imagined that a lot of the greenery from the surrounding area would shine through. I love the idea of putting the menu on the side of a wine bottle like in the inspiration board above and another favorite detail is definitely that copper table number – such an unexpected touch!
For Lindsay’s bridesmaids charcoal gray dresses and white bouquets would be lovely, and a great choice for the bride would be to carry a beautiful lavender and purple bridal bouquet. Lindsay can compliment her already brown hair color with a copper and pearl hair comb from BHLDN and light purple shoes with some vintage bling on them complete the look. Using lavender springs for Andres’s boutonniere along with a stripped gray ribbon would look amazing with all the other colors in this wedding.
If you have a naturally beautiful location to get married at like Lindsay and Andres do I always vote to have your ceremony outside. With an outdoor ceremony you don’t have to spend too much on decorations – but chair ribbons that tie in the colors of your wedding palette are always a nice touch. This cute couple can serve their guests refreshing champagne with lavender flowers in it while they wait for the ceremony to begin (plus it can get super hot in Texas so I’m sure it would be most appreciated!). Paper programs that can easily be lost, blown away, or turned into litter at an outdoor ceremony can be avoided with a stylish custom chalkboard sign listing all those in your wedding party and to top the evening off, a perfect wedding favor is copper chocolate buttons!
