best bridal beauty products

It’s really important that you look your best…not just your best, but your most radiant during your engagement and on your wedding day! Not only do you want to feel like you’re at your peak look-wise, but you need to look great for all those photographs: glowing skin, big eyes, and a nice lip color that will really make your photographs pop.

Wedding bloggers know beauty products. We see how they look on brides and brides-to-be in the photographs we share, we see the products in action at inspiration shoots, we talk to real brides and we know what works! With that in mind I’ve asked a few of our favorite wedding bloggers what their favorite beauty products are and hopefully you’ll find a few things among them that work for you!
heart-lovebest beauty and makeup productsAlexandra of Heart Love Weddings: 1. I have extremely sensitive skin and Philosophy’s purity make simple one-step facial cleanser is the best thing out there. It’s a little more expensive than what you’ll find in the drugstores but a little of this stuff goes a long way. I buy the biggest bottle and it lasts at least six months (washing my face day and night.) 2. I know $30 for mascara may be pushing it, but you don’t understand. Trish McEvoy’s Lash Curling Mascara is the bee’s knees. The mascara comes right off your lashes in little strips – not all wet. You know what that means! No more raccoon eyes! Told you it was the bee’s knees. 3. Again, because of my skin sensitivities and allergies I have to be careful with the makeup I wear. BareMinerals is where it’s at for me. They have shades for every skin tone and it’s SPF 15. 4. Another BareMinerals product! I was introduced to their high shine eye colors last year and I haven’t looked back since. I use the golden sand for a rose gold smokey eye and the moonshine for a purple one. Both are fab-u-lous! 5. I’ve always been envious of Carrie Underwood’s lips. Specifically what she puts on them to make them so shiny, pinky, and glossy. I searched and searched for the same desired effect and I think I found it in Nars Turkish Delight lip gloss. As far as I’m concerned, I can check that one off my must-have list – Carrie Underwood lips achieved!

limn-andbest beauty and makeup productsLauren of Limn & Lovely: 1. Although I’m terrible at doing my own nails, I’m obsessed with Kure Bazaar’s chic, chemical free nail laquers. The formula, which uses an odd-sounding combination of wood pulp, wheat, cotton, potatoes, and corn is surprisingly vibrant, shiny, and long-lasting. ‘Hipster,’ a cool slate blue, and ‘Afrika,’ a smokey orange, are currently my favorite colors. 2. This mineralized eye shadow from MAC has a perfectly pearlescent finish, and this particular color combo really makes green eyes pop. 3. I was utterly hopeless at curling my own hair until I discovered clipless curling irons. Enzo Milano’s ceramic version is a bit pricey, but it’s among the best on the market. This is the only tool that comes close to giving my tresses a fresh-from-the-salon look. It produces curls that are perfectly loose and beachy. 4. Any bar of soap wrapped in a Joyce Kilmer poem gets my stamp of approval. Enchanting packaging aside, its jasmine-lime scent will make you smell heavenly. 5. Skin Ceuticals: I love this product because it only has three ingredients, and it actually lives up to its label. It leaves your skin with a dewy glow, and it won’t cause breakouts, unlike some other supposedly non-comedogenic products that shall not be named.

kiss-mybest beauty and makeup productsCris of Kiss My Tulle: 1. Nars Blush in Orgasm: There’s a reason this is the best-selling blush ever. A few swipes and I look refreshed and younger. Invest in this because you don’t need much (one compact lasts me 2-3 years!) 2. Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick in Matchmaker: Creamy and rich plus it looks more expensive than it is. This holds up really well to kissing and moisture. 3. Sonia Kashuk Radiant Tinted Moisturizer: I hate regular moisturizer so I’m a tinted girl all the way. This budget find is FAB – lightweight, sheer coverage, and lots of colors. 4. e.l.f. Essential Brightening Eye Color in Ethereal #2014: I first bought this almost a decade ago and have been re buying ever since. It has the perfect shades for a natural nude smokey eye.

fab-youbest beauty and makeup productsStephanie of Fab You Bliss: Being a little bit older than most of my professional blogging buddies, I probably have a few items I use that are different. I know I wouldn’t have used these several years ago. But that’s how beauty products go. You change as you age and so should your products. 1. First I wear Olay 30+ sunscreen on my face everyday, even if I’m not wearing makeup. It should be a must for everyone to protect against harmful UV rays. But for me, being very fair skinned, it’s even more important. 2-3. Until recently I only used one kind of face lotion for day and night. Now I have several. In addition to my regular Olay day cream, I use RoC Retinol Correxion Eye Cream for around my eyes under day and night creams. And I use L’Oreal Age Perfect Extra-Nutrition Day Night Cream before bed. All of these products leave my skin feeling clean, soft, and super hydrated which I feel is key to diminishing the signs of age. 4. After I wash my face and brush my teeth before bed, I always coat my lips with a thin layer of Vaseline. It sounds funny, but it keeps them soft and chapped-free… which is definitely a plus in the dry winter months. 5. I use a Glycolic peel every few months. The best over-the-counter product I’ve found is Boots No7 Advanced Renewal Anti-Ageing Glycolic Peek Kit. You use it twice a week for four weeks. Unfortunately, as you get older, most people’s skin starts to look less alive. Using this peel just seems to bring back some of the luster and it leaves my skin renewed and looking fresh. 6. Water! Drinks lots of it. It’s the best beauty product you can put in your body and sometimes it’s even free.

bbbest beauty and makeup productsSara of Burnett’s Boards: I recently stopped at the Chanel Makeup counter at Nordstrom’s, got my makeup done, and became an instant convert. It’s not cheap, but it’s your face! Everyone sees it so it’s worth it to invest. That said… 1. Chanel’s Lift Lumiere is the best foundation out there. Use a brush too, and be sure to brush downwards when applying, otherwise it catches on all your little face hairs and becomes visible. 2. If you’re looking for a lovely bubble bath scent I can’t recommend Mistral Clementine Atelier Luxury Bubble Bath enough. Its orange blossom, pineapple, jasmine, mandarin, and bergamot scent is heavenly. Even better: when I drink white wine while in the bathtub the scent compliments the flavors! 3. Chipped nail polish is my personal pet peeve so I always keep them painted, and Dior’s ‘Rosy Bow’ Nail Lacquer is so fun – it makes me smile whenever I look down and see it. 4. I travel a lot and Benefit’s ‘Her Name was Glowa’ kit is what I take with me. It’s compact enough to fit in my carry-on, small enough to not tip off TSA, and it has all the essentials. 5. Chanel’s Le Blanc is a must have. I swear by it. You can wear it alone or under your base and it evens out your skin tone and creates the perfect canvas to add makeup to. 6. La Nuit Shea Butter Soap from Sweet Petula has the most wonderful black amber and jasmine scent – I hate showering without it and I order it in bulk. 7. YSL’s Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick is amazing. I wear it inΒ peach passion and extreme coral. 8. I use Caudalie’s entire skincare line but their Instant Foaming Cleanser is a standout. It’s soap free, lightly scented, and uses grape extracts from the Bordeaux region in France that apparently have anti-aging properties.

fbbest beauty and makeup productsWhen I asked on Facebook and Twitter what your favorite beauty products are Ashleigh from Marry Me Metro replied: 1. Laura Mercier Tinted Mousturizer because it has SPF, it’s hydrating, has a great color and glow, and it won’t clog your pores. I don’t leave home without it! 2. Cristina: Chanel Rouge Coco in Chintz. It’s the perfect pale pink that I’ve always wanted to wear and doesn’t was me out. I totally saw this featured in Real Simple last month as one of the best nude looks carried off by Halle Berry and I figured I would try it. I love it! 3. Michelle of The Day of Events: Clarisonic is a must! 4. Amy of Fly Away Bride: HD powder and HD foundation is amazing! 5. Elizabeth of Bridal Musings: My go to everyday lip color is a Clinique Chubby Stick in ‘Chunky Cherry.‘ I love that it’s more like a lip balm than a lipstick so it’s not drying! Β 6-7. Phoebe of So You’re Getting Married: Diorshow Mascara and Β Chanel Rouge in Pirate.

  2. What a great post! I love how everything tied together so well πŸ™‚

  3. I love, love, love getting new tips on beauty products to use. I’m really fickle and find it hard to stick to certain products (I’m always convinced there has to be something better out there!) This is getting bookmarked : )

  4. I love my beauty products. Favoriting this post for future purchases. πŸ™‚

  5. Wow, what a great round-up! I’ll be bookmarking for future reference!

  6. I LOVE this post. I would add sunscreen and water for mountain brides. Sunscreen protects skin for the harsh high-altitude sun and water helps keep skin fresh and lovely from the inside out.

  7. I love all the nail polish options! πŸ™‚

  8. Thanks so much for including us in this beautiful post! There are so many great beauty finds here. I love YSL’s Rouge Volupte too. I always buy “Lingerie Pink,” but I’m totally going to try out the coral shades the next time I go to Sephora. Also, water and Vaseline are seriously two of the best beauty tricks ever!

  9. what a fun post – believe it or not, I’m nearly a total ELF girl – love their eye primer, eye makeup {in particular the smokey eye set}, blush and mascara {the only one I can use that doesn’t dry out my lashes}. But, I am a Mary Kay Timewise girl for face wash and moisturizer with spf built into it.

  10. Totally in love with this post. believe it or not I actually spent some decent time in Ulta this weekend and I was like a kid in a candy shop as I went through the aisles. beauty products are so fun! and i especially love trying new things. I have to admit there were quite a few impulse buys – but hey, it was fun. can’t wait to try all my new things.

    • I’m that way with beauty products too! But sometimes it’s a total miss. Like this waterproof white eye liner I got and is seriously still on my face. At least they weren’t lying about the ‘waterproof’ part!

  11. Great post – love going inside other ladies makeup kits! On my list includes Burt Bees Beeswax Lipbalm, James Brown Photo Fabulous High Shine Finishing Spray and always Chanel Nail Polish 475 Dragon. Just finding the wonders of BB creams – jury is still out on this one at the moment.

    • These are great additions! I’m actually a big fan of Burt’s Bees lotions – the ocean and pool dries me out so much they totally work for hydrating your skin!

  12. This is a great list! I’ve been thinking about investing in a lot more makeup, and will definitely try all these out! I’m surprise a MAC lipstick didn’t make the list – I’ve just become a huge fan, and I can’t get enough of their matte lipstick in Russian Red πŸ™‚

  13. Thanks !!! Great list ….. Louise’s Attic
