destination bridal styles

What a treat we have today from What A Day Photography and BB Vendor Passion Roots! I always love love LOVE it when I get shoots from Hawaii wedding vendors because a. I know them and b. these islands are absolutely gorgeous! What we have here are three distinctly different bridal styles for destination brides and beautiful floral options to compliment them. Sometimes destination weddings get type-casted as beach only affairs which is the first style we are going to look at, but there are a few more (especially for Hawaii weddings) such as urban chic and colorfully offbeat. Dani of Danielle Cason Wardrobe Styling did a spot on job of choosing and styling each of these very different looks!

beachy

This first style for destination brides, beachy bohemian, is definitely a crowd pleaser. Floral crowns (called a head lei or haku here in Hawaii) are all the rage right now and it’s really easy to see why – they’re beautiful, whimsical, and a great option to go with if you don’t want to wear a veil. The effortless hairstyle, makeup, and beautifully simple dress in this look compliment the natural surroundings perfectly. Pink colors plus a beach setting isn’t a common combination, but with the gorgeous sunlight it’s actually a stunning one.

urban-chic

This next look is for the urban chic bride: the one who needs a little city with her beach and is full of punchy attitude. Passion Roots created a simple all white hydrangea bouquet for a clean and modern look which is a great contrast to the urban atmosphere of Honolulu’s Chinatown. Rocking a sleek high bun, mini dress, and birdcage veil are great ways to achieve this look!

offbeat

This last destination bridal style is colorful and offbeat. The feather elements are amazing and a sweet nod to the Royal Hawaiian tradition of adorning the chiefly classes in old Hawaii with intricate  feather cloaks and helmets. The bright pink bouquet is a unique combination of garden roses, pom poms, godetias, celosia, spray roses, and statice.

I’d like to give a big mahalo to What A Day Photography for submitting these stunning images! And of course we all want to know – which destination bridal style is your favorite?
