I’m beyond thrilled to be hosting this amazing two-part (see part 2 here) Jane Austen shoot on its North American tour from the super talented photographer and Colombian wedding blogger at El Ajuar, Valeria Duque!
Valeria conceptualized and captured a series of shoots over the course of a single day that included 11 different dresses, two table and dessert display setups, one fabulous house in Colombia, and drew inspiration from her four favorite Jane Austen novels: Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, and Emma. She managed to capture not only the beautifully feminine look of this time period, but also the classic essence, emotional power, and strength in Jane Austen’s works.
From Valeria: “Around the world thousands of people find inspiration and passion in the stories of this 18th century British author, in her daring heroines, their impossible love, and their societies based on appearances. Her novels are a portrait of her time and always have a touch of rebellion and girl power! When I put together my fantastic team for this editorial, I thought of this way to pay homage to the author who has given me so many joys and has literally accompanied me throughout my life.”
I’d like to give a big mahalo to Valeria for submitting this gorgeous shoot and be sure to tune in for part two tomorrow!
