The board game wedding series continues today with a one inspired by Chutes and Ladders. For this wedding inspiration board I went quite literal with the game’s title and focused on ways to use ladders in your wedding!
Chutes and Ladders has its roots in ancient India where it was called Snakes and Ladders and taught players gentle lessons in morality. As you moved up the board you were either helped by ladders (good deeds) or hindered by snakes (vices). The Western version is pretty much the same, except the snakes have been replaced by slides, or ‘chutes.’
For this board game wedding I wanted to capture the whole morality lesson behind it – aka: trying to get to the top, or ‘to the heavens’, so I wanted the entire board to have a sort of angelic and ethereal feeling to it and a more subdued color palette. Wispy tulle and a gentle blush, ivory, and nude color palette do the trick.
Ladders are incorporated throughout this inspiration board and I ran with a pretty broad definition of the word ladder. Anything used to elevate can be a type of ladder so the stool and the chair & table are also references to that as well as the antler holding up the diamond bracelet!
