secret garden themed wedding

Who could resist the story of The Secret Garden when they were younger? (or now!) Meghan of Weddings by Willy & Meghan brought this delightful tale to life with a wonderful Secret Garden themed wedding inspiration shoot.

The floral design, the dresses, the sweet reception area hidden away in a garden alcove, and the unique spin she put on this classic story are all lovely!

From Weddings by Willy & Meghan – “Growing up I was always obsessed with the romance, adventure and whimsy of the movie/book The Secret Garden. I wanted to incorporate those elements in a bridal shoot so I decided to do it in my mom’s garden in Rancho Santa Fe, which was already very special because my sister was recently married there.

I wanted to tell the story of two brides who were exploring a hidden garden, nestled deep in the countryside. I used a muted pastel color palate that reminded me of springtime, when the garden would be showing its first blooms with greens, pinks, and bursts of color. The brides discover a lounge area filled with lush pillows and decide to relax there for a while sipping white wine they brought for a picnic. There is a little bird to accompany them and show them around, like the little robin in The Secret Garden who showed Mary where the entrance was hidden.

They find an old rustic table and they set it with china and goblets for an afternoon snack. They linger for a while talking about stories of girlhood dreams. Finally they discover the chuppah area with beautiful vines growing over it and they practice walking down the aisle lined with white blossoms, where their groom will one day await them.”
