Everything that Ari of Chykalophia Design & Heartily Wed touches turns into wedding magic and that’s definitely the case today with her own neo-eclectic wedding in Bali. She crafted her mood board with inspiration from her Balinese culture & modern design elements and then seamlessly wove the two together for her big day!
To kick things off take a look at the inspiration board that she started with –
From Ari – “Although Peter and I have been legally married in the US since 2011, because I am Balinese a traditional Balinese wedding is required in my culture. Looking back to the richness of my roots and the pops of color in our traditional fabrics, it inspired me to create something bright and bold for our traditional Balinese wedding and western-style reception afterwards.”
Now that you’ve seen her inspiration board it’s so easy to see how Ari brought these amazing ideas to life in her own wedding!
From Ari – “Mixing gold and bold colors like bright yellow, lime green, royal purple and magenta to work cohesively across the traditional wedding ceremony and reception afterwards was a challenge in its own way. Earth tones from our home Bali temple and the venue for the party were a great addition that complemented the pops of color for both events.
The fun part was the stationery and décor. I wanted something that reflected the authenticity of Balinese culture as well as incorporating modern design elements. We added the classic Bali ornament called Patra and a photograph that Peter took 5 years ago of Wisnu and Garuda statues to the stationery layout, plus added thicker lines and fonts for the layout. As a result, a fun and artistic multicolored wedding stationery suite was created!”
“The décor for both events was also a blast to work with. We asked Bloomz Fine Flowers to help up with the décor and utilize the native Balinese flowers and traditional décor like young coconut leaves called Paku Pipit. Everything was magical with the vibrant colors and culture, and of course a touch of topical!”
