The Four Seasons is always a glamorous venue for a wedding and this shoot from Ashley Kidder Photo utilizes this stunning Denver hotel to its fullest. In collaboration with Pretty Bride Shop and the talented ladies at The Perfect Petal – this dazzling editorial is filled with fresh design details and gorgeous photography.
Each of the creative wedding pros working on this shoot provided a little bit of insight – it’s a must-read!
From Kit & Emily (who also modeled as the bride!) of The Perfect Petal –“The florals we used were composed of mostly garden flowers and romantic blooms. We used ranunculus, garden roses, spring blooms, tulips, viburnum and blooming jasmine. The color palette was a rich juxtaposition of deeply saturated colors of dark red paired with peach and dusty pink.
The flowers were chosen to compliment the simplicity of the bride’s dress and its delicate details. We wanted to showcase the colors and the blooms individually and used a color palette that had more of an impression than a softer, muted palette would have.”
CAKE & DESSERTS
Amanda Cook crafted a two-tier round cake for the shoot. She created a blood orange chiffon cake with a Bavarian cream filling that was accented by a citrus buttercream icing.
From Peteybird Ice Cream Sandwiches – “These delectable treats were all hand-made from scratch using only the finest, purest ingredients (definitely no additives or preservatives). I designed two flavors for our shoot: (1) a graham cracker cookie with Key lime ice cream filling and (2) a brown sugar + carrot cookie with jalapeno-infused strawberry ice cream.”
From Ashely of Urban Safari Photography – “This styled shoot was a dream of mine to help put together. The Four Seasons is the flagship upscale hotel in downtown Denver, and I have always wanted to photograph a stunning bride + groom on location.
The hotel has multiple locations that provide gorgeous photo opportunities: the grand stairwell as you enter the lobby, the cleanly + classically designed rooms themselves, and a breathtaking rooftop pool deck that features views of some of the most iconic buildings in downtown Denver; I love that you can see the Daniels & Fisher Tower just north of the pool. As a photographer, I enjoyed incorporating leading lines of the architecture into the photos. It was such a joy to shoot at this flawless venue, and I couldn’t recommend it more to brides- and grooms-to-be.
For the final images themselves, I wanted a crisp + vibrant feeling to the photos, and I love all the blues (from the pool itself to the blue hues in our groom’s suit) that came out in this shoot.”
WARDROBE & BEAUTY
From Maureen of Style Down the Aisle – “For the groom’s suit, we went for a compelling “Mad Men” kind of look. A throw-back to 1960s New York style which was slick, erudite and discerning. We loved the demeanor that this suit brought out in the personality of our groom.”
From Nicole of Pretty Bride Shop – “I found inspiration for the makeup in all of the details of the shoot. For instance, I chose the lip and cheek color to go with the floral color palette, and the eye shadow colors were inspired by the headpiece and bracelet. I wanted the makeup to accent the natural beauty of the model and flow with the overall vibe of the shoot.”
Emma & Grace Bridal studio is a breath of fresh air to the Denver bridal scene. They carry a lot of designers from other countries, such as Spain and Australia. They even have an in-house designer that makes dresses for the studio as well as custom pieces for brides. When we decided to do the shoot at the Four Seasons, Emma and Grace was a natural choice.”
From Chelsea of MENTE Freelance – “Emily and I had the opportunity to chat shortly before we began her hair. Through conversation, I got a feel for her personality. She’s a very confident and genuine woman, and I loved that about her. She is so down-to-earth and relaxed. In the hair design I wanted to convey the simplicity of her complex being. The overall form of the updo was inspired by 50s swing. I really wanted to capture her natural beauty while delivering a modern twist of unique elegance.”
