There is so much to love about today’s zoo wedding inspiration shoot by Leave It To Me Photography, starting with its fun location! To go along with the colorful and joyous zoo style, this creative team curated a ton of delightful details from Etsy vendors that can be easily incorporated into your own wedding theme.
From Leave It To Me Photography – “When the Elmwood Park Zoo agreed to host a styled shoot for me I was beyond excited. I had been looking for venue that could provide couples a chance to embrace their passion and be a little unique, and a zoo was just that.
Our models were super earthy and in love with animals and nature so they were a perfect fit for my boho chic style. I loved how the animals, real and fake, contributed to the laid back style of the shoot.
I wanted to utilize gold and other metals, channeling the bronze statues, gates and cages found throughout the zoo. Gold combined with various shades of blue, and pops of fuchsia gave it that autumn like feel.
Peicha from Falls Flowers also did brilliant job pairing succulents with dried honeycomb and beautiful green foliage. The textures of light beige feathers and added pops of dark fuchsia cockscomb truly made the bouquet and centerpiece look elegant and amazing!”
From Leave It To Me Photography – “Fox and Finch vintage rentals brought in some fantastic pieces that were perfect for lounging in the barn and relaxing by the giraffes. And how amazing were the giraffes? Tamu was a perfect gentleman while his older brother Louis was acting more like a camera hog!
When choosing a location like a zoo, it’s a tendency to focus on the animal element. However I wanted to showcase that choosing a unique location doesn’t mean you have to take your surroundings too literally.
Sarah of Juniper and Dash was extremely helpful in maintaining the boho chic theme with simple pops of the animal elements, while keeping it ultra-chic with the placement of a muted cheetah table runner, adorable gold animal escort card holders, and animal inspired stationery.
All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better day, the weather was gorgeous and the photographer Kylene from Leave It To Me Photography was able to utilize the light brilliantly. I heard her squeal in delight a few times capturing the last few rays of light peeking through the many trees surrounding the park.”
