I’m so thrilled to bring you another edition of the inside the boutique series today! With beautiful images by Diana Elizabeth Photography and a fabulous interview from Bella Lily Bridal’s owner, Brenda, this Glendale bridal boutique is the perfect place for Arizona brides and bridesmaids to find their dream dress!
What was the inspiration behind the interior styling and design of your boutique?
Elegant yet comfortable. We wanted brides to come in and just relax. Planning a wedding can be so stressful and the pressure the brides feel trying to find the perfect gown is tremendous. We wanted a bride to come in, take a deep breath and enjoy. The soft colors, the elegant touches, the champagne and the calming music help a bride truly embrace the moment.
What types of wedding dress trends are you seeing as being really popular with your brides right now?
Brides are really stepping away from the ball gown, princess look. They want to be a more radiant version of themselves on their wedding. Illusion backs and necklines are popular right now. Lace is still something brides are drawn to however; some are looking for touches of lace instead of an all lace dress. Brides want something flowy and soft, romantic and timeless.
What are your 3 pieces of advice for brides who are on the hunt for their dream wedding dress?
– Enjoy this moment; it’s such a special time in your life so enjoy every second of your search for the perfect dress because the fun is in the search.
– Be true to your style. Don’t go to trendy if that is not who you are every other day of your life. Don’t let the dress wear you, you have to own the dress and it has to be a reflection of your personality.
– Try dresses outside your comfort zone. Brides come in with one vision and do not look at all the other beautiful gowns we have. Try on all shapes, shades of color and styles because the perfect dress may be a dress you never imagined yourself in but once you try it on, it is totally you as a bride.
How did you come to find yourself in the wedding industry?
I worked in corporate America right after college and was focused on my ‘career.’ However, the moment I became engaged, something inside me changed. I fell in love with weddings, and especially wedding gowns. As the years went by, my love for weddings became greater and greater. My husband could see that I lit up around wedding gowns and pushed me into opening my own bridal boutique. He said life was too short to not do what you love, so Bella Lily came to be. I started with the name ‘Bella’ after my only niece and ‘Lily’ after my favorite flower. The rest of the planning just fell into place and here we are, 12 months later, from notes on paper to a lovely boutique.
