Today’s wedding inspiration shoot from Angie Capri Photography is a truly special one because it turned into not only an on the spot engagement, but also into a real wedding – all in the same day. The story is too incredible to miss – I know you’re going to love it!
From Angie Capri Photography – “I wanted to do a same-sex themed wedding inspiration shoot telling a very special love story. It was all about finding your true love, following your heart, and being truly happy and expressing all these truths that everyone deserves to experience freely.
The idea is our bride runs away from tradition, ditches the white wedding dress and meets her true love, another woman and is wearing a black dress. She’s holding a voluptuous wild and free bouquet that she later breaks apart into two separate bouquets representing giving her partner a piece of herself. They follow their hearts, discover and honor what and who truly makes them happy – showing the world that it’s ok, they represent being truly free and are an example for us all as we can relate to these themes in some way.”
From Angie Capri Photography – “Once I knew that we were creating a same-sex wedding inspiration shoot I had to find the perfect couple who would trust me and my vision. I definitely wanted a real couple because I wanted their ‘first kiss’ to have real emotion behind it. I was introduced to Kylie & Andrea by a colleague and they were perfect!
Fast forward to just one week before the show Andrea asked me if I would mind if she proposed to Kylie during the photo shoot – of course I said yes without hesitation!
After the shoot, just when Kylie thought she was done for the day I shouted out a code phrase to the team which was “oh no, we forgot to take pictures with our officiant!” – everyone scurried with their secret intentions. We played their favorite song, they danced, and then Andrea got down on one knee, Kylie said yes and they got MARRIED ON THE SPOT! Everyone was really emotional and we were all crying – it was beautiful.”
From Andrea – “We were excited about Angie’s same-sex wedding photo shoot for many reasons. Since Kylie and I are a same-sex couple, same-sex marriage is obviously a topic close to our hearts. Angie was so amazing and put us at such ease about the shoot, which was something we had never done before, that a week before the editorial Kylie mentioned how awesome it would be if it was real and I felt the same way. I asked Angie if it would be too much of an interruption if I was to propose to Kylie during the shoot and if she had someone standing in as an officiate and surprise Kylie with a REAL WEDDING!
Angie was just as excited about the ideas as I was and told me that the florist was already an officiate! I don’t think things could have worked out more perfectly.
Kylie and I were together for three months before we started talking about marriage. I’ve heard people say that when you know, you just know… and until Kylie I never believed that. I always thought you had to know someone for years before you could begin to love them but us being together just felt like home. I’m sure there are people who believe Kylie and I are crazy for getting married after just a three-month relationship but just like the message this photo shoot was envisioned to show, there is nothing bad to be said about following your heart. When you find true love you grab it and hold on!”
