Proteas come in all shapes, sizes, and colors and today’s stunning bridal editorial from Corette Faux celebrates a truly unique variety of Protea – the Protea Niobe. Mixed with some textural details against a natural South African setting, there is plenty to inspire you here!
From Corette Faux – “Whilst I was in South Africa recently for a wedding, I fell in love with this totally stunning Protea. Being a South African myself, it never seems to amaze me how I get blown away every time by the beauty and richness of our South African culture, nature itself is endless with its beauty.
A few of us had the idea of doing an African inspired shoot, but we were mainly inspired by the Protea Niobe and its unusual colors of black, silver and green. We wanted to create a shoot that would reveal the raw, authentic diversity of Africa in both culture and flora, so we added more rough textures, like some succulents and natural textures like some ostrich eggs.
The gorgeous Thandi, a local student from Cullinan completed the picture with her bare feet on the mountain rocks to make the perfect African look that we wanted to create.”
