From Cavin Elizabeth Photography – “My inspiration for this styled shoot came from an image I saw in a coffee table book at a swanky hotel. In the image, a woman was wearing black Louboutin heels, black tights, a black tulle skirt and a cream sweater.
This was the epitome of chic and I instantly knew I wanted to create a styled shoot that embodied a chic stylishness while incorporating a few unexpected elements.”
From Cavin Elizabeth Photography – “Samantha Louise Moments had recently toured 828 Events new space in Liberty Station and knew this would be a great addition to our concept. The space exudes originality and character and was a perfect urban-industrial setting that we knew would provide an effective contrast with our chic elements. We wanted a space that wasn’t overdone, so 828 was a fitting choice.
For the black elements of the shoot, ghost chairs were a must-have. They were the perfect anchor for this shoot because they’re so sleek and always make a bold statement. Lounge Appeal was able to provide us with the chairs in addition to a super chic belly bar that worked nicely as our cake and dessert table. Samantha and I felt that we needed a pop of color and decided to add seafoam into our palate to accent the black and cream. We had amazing seafoam pops in the form of delicious macarons from Sweet Lydia’s, paper goods from Honestly, Kate, and handcrafted cocktails from Native Spirits.”
From Cavin Elizabeth Photography – “Our table setting featured black and cream linens, elegant cream plating, modern glassware, and classic silverware from Classic Party Rentals. The ghost chairs provided such a strong accent that we aspired to keep the tablescape fairly simple.
The stunning floral arrangements, provided by Bloom Babes, impeccably exemplified the modern and distinctive style I wanted for our floral design. Because we love to show the different ways you can style your tables, we had two sets of floral arrangements-cream hellebores and peach roses. Both work well for day or night weddings, although we absolutely fell head over heels for the peach arrangement against our warm candlelight.
Samantha added in a few staple décor items to our peach tablescape to give the table more edge. Careful not to overwhelm the setting, we used large round granite marbles and geometric pieces that would blend well with our design vision.”
From Cavin Elizabeth Photography – “Katie Wooley of Honestly, Kate provided us with a beautifully balanced modern and timeless invitation suite. The menus, table number, and name cards all included black and cream with seafoam accents. Kate also contributed her beautiful hand lettering and calligraphy that really tied the paper suite together nicely.
Sweet Lydia’s three cakes all featured unique elements that tied in flawlessly with the mood of the shoot. The white and gold two-tier cake featured a seafoam floral creation with delicate gold details. The one-tier cake, painted with loose, black strokes, perfectly married simplicity and urban chic. The two-tier black and white cake boasts a constructed gold ribbon. Macarons in seafoam, cream, and peach were gold-brushed to pair with the cakes’ gold accents.”
From Cavin Elizabeth Photography – “My Marquee SD provided us with a modern “LOVE” marquee, whose warm lights paired exquisitely with our tablescape’s candles. Because no wedding should be without specialty, handcrafted cocktails, Gary from Native Spirits whipped up three gorgeous cocktails: a unique margarita with smoky black salt, a kiwi concoction, and a tasty cream-colored egg white libation.
We had the pleasure of using three stunning gowns from The Dress Theory to showcase in our shoot. The gown with sleeves is Hendricks by Johanna Johnson and is absolute perfection. Our second gown, Tompkins Square by Lela Rose, gave the edge I was looking for. Our third gown, Cassidy by Sarah Janks, brought a sultry mood with its low back and thin straps. Alex Schmoker created an elegant low up-do that accentuated the gowns and showcased the model’s makeup, by Laren Armijo Éclat Beauty Lounge. This styled shoot showcases wedding inspiration that is perfect for the modern, chic bride who shares an appreciation for a unique and elegant urban setting.”
