Launching a new website? Just starting out with your business? Rebranding your look? Need a little business boost? All of these are fabulous reasons to create and execute a branded shoot. You can use the imagery for promotional materials, send them to media outlets to promote your services, use them on social media for banners/headers and of course utilize them to gussy-up your new look!
Autumn of Hello Miss Lovely (a fabulous photographer you’ve seen countless times here on Burnett’s Boards) recently redesigned her website and created a branded shoot for the relaunch of her business and it’s gorgeous! Along with the images from this editorial I’ve also included some tips and advice for you to use when thinking about your own brand shoot. It’s a process I’ve gone through, (see Burnett’s Boards’ branded shoot here) and many others are as well – perhaps it’s time to start thinking about your own! It’s exciting and rejuvenating and I can’t recommend going through this process enough.
WHAT A BRANDED SHOOT SHOULD DO:
- Represent you
- Showcase your style
- Explain what your brand is
From Hello Miss Lovely – “Starting this process was invigorating, complex, and a dream come true. Creating a website and a brand doesn’t happen overnight. I truly had to search inside my soul and portray what it is I love, why I do it, and what I want my business to become. Ultimately, I want to create beautiful images, tell numerous love stories, and leave with new friends.”
From Hello Miss Lovely – “While exploring the new Hello Miss Lovely site—if you look carefully—you’ll find a lot of elements that inspired this gorgeous bridal session, below. I am forever inspired by (and a sucker for) anything floral. My new site incorporates floral elements (as does my HML brand), which is the exact same beauty that I bring into my sessions. For this shoot, I made a floral crown (DIY projects are my fave!), and incorporated a GORGEOUS bouquet by Bella Flora. I also DIY’ed a “Hello Miss Lovely” sign, using the same color pops throughout my site. Can you find them?! The AMAZING cake was made by Heather with Emerald Custom Cakes. The wonderful Lauren from Lovegood Weddings provided the fantastic props.”
From Hello Miss Lovely – “As an artist, I’m attracted to light. The hazy, whimsical kind. Light is definitely my playground. I love to experiment with it and try new things. Along with being a natural light photographer, most of the time, and I love natural locations. The details of nature alone inspire me everyday. With that said, the location of this bridal session was a perfect find and incredibly beautiful.”
