If you’re looking for a bit of fairytale magic for your wedding day you’re going to adore this enchanted forest wedding inspiration shoot! It’s a little bit of Snow White and Sword in the Stone all mixed into together with beautifully designed details by green Goddess Flower Studio, fabulous images from Lauren Kriedemman Photography, a rescue owl, and one epic (fern not flower) crown!
From Green Goddess Flower Studio- “The inspiration behind the shoot was a derelict old house in a forest in Cape Town and a beautiful rescue owl called Barney. We imagined a beautiful young girl who had befriended the woodland animals eventually finding love and happiness and a woodland union witness by her owl.
The centerpieces are very woodland inspired and consist of flowers arranged on pieces of driftwood- inspired by Francoise Weeks, whom I have spent some time learning from.
Our bride had a non-traditional flower crown made from the dried leaves of a staghorn fern, again contributing to the more fairytale like feel of the shoot; much more so than a more traditional flower crown! For her bouquet we it to look as if the blooms had been gathered from the forest and placed together quite naturally.
We chose not to go with a traditional wedding cake and instead made a very simple sponge cake layered with ganache and forest fruits as well as a chocolate swirl pavlova – for those couples who want something more relaxed than a formal tiered cake!
As for the stationery we opted for the deeper berry colors and the use of a feather as the motif, as a nod to our lovely owl Barney!”
