From Photographer & Stylist Corette Faux – “I am fortunate to be able to visit South Africa often as it is my ancestral home land and a place really close to my heart. We have been talking about our South African shoot for over a year now, incorporating 3 very different inspiring couples. Although the South African landscape can mostly be arid, hard and desolate but therein lies its beauty, South Africa is a place that really touches your soul!”
“Our inspiration was taken from the striking beauty of the South African Motherland, the colours of the African landscapes and the most beautiful sunsets. This country has the most stunning breath-taking landscapes, not to mention the largest variety of wild animals in the world + unique fauna and floras.”
“Keeping the theme indigenous, we took advantage of the natural wonders that surround us all each day when designing the bouquets, we used many types of Fynbos and proteas and added some wonderful ‘living fossils’ the leaves from the Cycad plant, indigenous to South-Africa.
We wanted the flowers to blend in with the feel of the bushveld and mountains while still looking bridal. We continued that theme throughout our design, and added some organic materials (African slate) and texture to our tablescape.”
“We used some stunning elegant dresses from Zanne couture capturing its beauty in the bushveld, a wild animal camp, with some wild animals framing the backdrop and a flowing dress from Silverswallow which we captured its beauty on some hills.”
