Cold Comfort Farm is a fantastic comedic novel by Stella Gibbons that pokes fun at the countless down and out accounts of rural life written during the early 1920s. It is best remembered for a charming little character named Aunt Ada Doom, who insists, on numerous occasions, to having seen “something nasty in the woodshed.”
The unforgettable tagline for the 1995 TV series: “She discovered a new branch of her family tree – the one with the nuts.”
