pantone color of the year: african violet

Pantone color of the year African Violet wedding inspiration board This week we are calling on African Violet to be Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2013. This beautiful color is happy, soothing, and healing, which is why we typically think of it as lavender! It is perfect for a late winter or early spring wedding, and is sweet and feminine but not overly sugary like soft pinks.

Loving this spotlight series? Here are wedding inspiration boards for nectarine and grayed jade (< my personal fav!).

And don’t forget to pop over to 3D Memoirs today for some gorgeous emerald wedding inspiration!

  1. I used African Violets as table decorations at my wedding and the guests took them home which was nice because years later a few guests still had them growing happily in their homes. Love the African Violet cake!

  2. Gorgeous, Sara! Thank you for including me here!

  3. I adore this color! I’d love to see someone use African violets in their wedding!

  4. oh I love this one Sara! What a refreshing shade of purple! 🙂 Love this color with beige/tan/ivory!
