Toile de Jouy refers to a fabric with a white background and a repeated pattern of some pastoral scene such as people farming, having a picnic by a lake, herding lambs etc. It’s a classically cute and country-ish look and works well with a shabby chic wedding in the wine country! You’ll most commonly see toile fabrics in blue but I prefer the more unique red. It definitely spices things up a bit.
For your shabby chic wine country wedding giving your bridal party and/or guests a bottle of wine as a wedding favor is practically a requirement. Package them stylishly with one of these adorable and reusable wine tote bags from Towne 9 (and as a side note – I have a tote from Towne 9 that you can see in this post, and I love it! It’s one of the cutest totes I’ve ever owned and it rocks because it has an interior pocket).

Those totes are darling!
I agree. The totes are ridiculously adorable! I also love, love, love the toile. I had a toile-themed wedding, so maybe I’m a little bit biased, but this board is beautiful. I wish that I’d had a toile cake like that!
Lauren – is your wedding published somewhere?! I’d love to see a real toile themed wedding!
I could stare at this board all day. I just love the colors and flow…beautiful!
Thanks! xo
