tiki themed wedding

tiki themed wedding inspiration

Living in Hawaii I certainly see my fair share of tiki themed parties, restaurants, bars, and weddings, but despite seeing it all over the place I can’t get enough of it. A tiki themed wedding is fun, laid-back, vibrant, and if you do it right (like in this wedding inspiration board) it can also have a chic island vibe as well. What we don’t want is a cheap plastic straw, paper umbrella look… With that in mind, steer clear of things are too kitschy or at least disguise it with more sophisticated colors – spray paint any garden flamingos you might use for decor in gold and incorporate lots of different textures and stark graphic patterns.

The colors at a tiki themed wedding can easily get out of hand and turn into a hot mess. Avoid this by choosing 3 – 4 main colors and making sure they all occur at least twice in prominent places throughout your wedding day look. For instance – the blue veil in this inspiration board and blue Hawaiian drinks, gold-rimmed glasses and gold ceremony chairs, or touches of pink on your wedding invitation/escort cards and pink pineapples scattered across the bar. This will help pull it all together.

Does this wedding inspiration board have you dreaming of coconuts and mai tais? If so, be sure to check out bird of paradise!
