and the bride wore black

I love the idea of spinning tradition on its head and having the bride wear black and all the bridesmaids in white! This black, tan, and tomato red wedding inspiration board shows a stylish way to do just that.

Black tan and tangerine wedding colors

Deciding to wear black on your wedding day is definitely taking a little jaunt on the wild side. Add some rustic touches like the burlap and feathers in the picture of the invitation suite from Bliss & Bone as well as some calming but natural colors like tan and green to balance the palette.

Tomato red and black say ‘sexy’ while the softer colors say ‘wedding’ and when combined – they’re the perfect mix!

  1. I totally love this idea! In my opinion, you can never go wrong with black!

  2. Ohhhh thank you Sarah, for using Luís Onofre’s shoes 😉 LOVE the board!!!!!

  3. Absolutely brilliant! I am all for non traditional!

  4. I think a trend might be emerging! I’ll be featuring a styled shoot with a black wedding dress soon, and I love the idea of it. Darker, bolder colors seem to be the new thing. You have such a great eye for color, and it really shows in this board! I definitely have to check out that cocktail rimming sugar…

  5. I absolutely LOVE this! The idea of wearing black is so unique and personal, and while some people would think that’s crazy (including me), when you look at these photos black goes perfect with everything in this wedding!
