pewter and merlot

This pewter and Merlot colored wedding inspiration board was inspired by the jaw-dropping bold red and berry styled shoot earlier this week. I’ve been on a red-loving kick ever since then!

While the styled shoot I mentioned was bright and had touches of gold, for this wedding inspiration board I wanted to tone down the drama and amp up the romance with a darker red and see how it looked with a pewter silvery-gray color. Lovely, right?!

One of my favorite details in this inspiration board are the long strips of tulle decorating the chair. Completely impractical – yes, but totally gorgeous? Definite yes!

  1. Love this combination- it has a real subtle elegance!

  2. Stunning! Love that dress.

  3. That Myrtle Ivory gown is fantastic! Wine reds have always been my favorite; I’ll love them forever, whether they’re in or not. They go so well with gray, too! We’re kind of on the same wavelength today. 🙂

  4. That fabric drape on the reception chair is divine.

  5. The soft pewter just balances out the red so nicely! That chair is amazing! (I can’t imagine the effort to make 100 of them that way but maybe just one little tulle draped chair for the bride isn’t so impractical, right? 😉 )

  6. So lovely! And I’d go for gorgeous over practical any day 😉

  7. Gorgeous! I’m convinced that merlot is THE color of the season, and I love it!

  8. Truly pretty – I can’t get enough of this color here lately!

  9. very lovely!
