Today’s darling and sweet bridal session inspiration shoot from Jessica Maida Photography just couldn’t be more perfect for this week’s Valentine’s Day Extravaganza! The way the cake detailing mimics the pink wedding dress is genius and the snowy ground and adoring groom all add a sense of cozy romance to this amazing inspiration shoot.
From Jessica Maida Photography – “This shoot was born out of the collaborative effort of many Blush on Berry wedding vendors with the interest in a bridal session with a fun twist. Blush on Berry is a unique bridal boutique and collective in the heart of Richmond, VA and vendors will routinely come together for inspiration and stylized shoots. Richmond itself is known for its rich landmarks and history and it was a merging of this group and the Historic Tredegar Museum that brought this stylized shoot to life.
The pink rosette sweetheart gown was a creation by Laurianda Jenkins of Laurianda Clothing Co and lead our color scheme into the soft tones of winter rather than the harsh, strong accents. The pastel feel helped to soften the winter chills and also serve as a lead in to onset of spring. The mint sideboard table, by eclectic rental company Paisley & Jade, is a top favorite amongst couples and it was wonderful to provide an example of how such a piece can be used. It easily became out center piece further inspiring accent color and architectural elements in the cake and florals.
The cake drew inspiration from our color scheme and soft, romantic concept with cake designer Amanda Robinson of Sweetfix crafting her own silicon ornate frame and a matching rosette bottom to our dress. Florals by Jen Whitt of the Picked Petal were tied in gorgeous blooms of hyacinth, silverston roses, heather, limonium, mini ornamental cabbage and white feathers to create the pale, winter feel and look but keep with the soft undertones of the scene.
Makeup was provided by Aaron Ellerbrock of BRIDEface Richmond and hair by Kelly Hopkins of 1213 Hair Studio. Both worked together for a sophisticated, soft and natural look that highlighted our bride’s features and eyes but gave her a natural and soft feel.
Other looks that were created for our couple were the rustic ladder/chandelier and the ornamental/vintage arm-chair. Stationary with gold accents and trim revealed the elegance of our couple. Accessories were also provided by Pleiades Bridal Design, DSW, Etsy and our behind the scenes cinematographer was Cate of Violet Iris Studios. Suit was by Ben Sherman and cufflinks by My Precious Studio, and the bow tie was donated by our very own makeup artist Aaron.
Our wonderful bride was Kelly Harrison of Le Lapin de Marriage (The Wedding Rabbit) and Tom Oristian was our groom.”
