The Valentine’s Day Extravaganza continues with two adorable DIY bouquet recipes from Shelby at The Day’s Design and Heather of Heather Cisler Photography.
These two wonderful creatives ended up having to shoot this in the middle of a snowstorm. That’s crazy but I love it!
From Shelby of The Day’s Design – “With Valentine’s Day being right around the corner, flower shops, grocery stores, and even gas stations (for that really last-minute man in your life) are being flooded with your typical Valentine’s blooms. Red roses, pink roses, and perhaps a couple of other lovely shades all perfectly molded together – wrapped in plastic, or if you’re lucky a simple glass vase with a couple springs of fern thrown into the mix.
These are all flowers that are readily available and can be made glamorous if just arranged and displayed correctly. So, if your man stops at Speedway on his way home from work Friday night, don’t lose heart… you can still have a beautiful arrangement of flowers!”
“I put together two bouquets. The first one (above with blue ribbon) is a bit fancier, but still contains some Valentine’s favorites, including tulips.”
Recipe:
5 pink tulips
4 stems burgundy mums
2 pink snap dragons
3 medium pink roses
3 stems pink spray roses
2 cherry roses
2 cream roses
2 light pink roses
3 stems eucalyptus
1 leather fern
“The second one is composed of mainly roses, but paired with a stunning red velvet ribbon, which takes it from ordinary to extraordinary!”
Recipe:
3 stems pink spray roses
6 cream roses
3 pale pink roses
3 medium pink roses
4 cherry roses
3 leather ferns
1 tree-fern
1 sprig cedar (salvaged from my backyard)
“And I couldn’t resist putting together a little floral headpiece with some of the leftover blooms, which is a certain way to make any girl feel like a princess! Then we added some glitter and sweet treats, capturing it all in one of Michigan’s famous snow storms this winter.”

Loved these pictures, simply beautiful and inspiring.
Gorgeous pics and beautiful flowers! And very pretty model braving the cold but smiling like it’s nobody’s business. 🙂
I love the idea of bouquet recipes! These are gorgeous!
This is so lovely. The burgundy mums are my favorite. I have to hand it to the model for braving the snow in that cut-out dress! It’s gorgeous, but she must have been freezing! It did make for some stunning images, especially that last shot. 🙂
Oh my this bouquet is stunning!
The fact that this gal is wearing that dress through a snowstorm is quite remarkable.
Goodness, she looks a touch cold. But she’s totally rocking that dress nonetheless! And those blooms! Wow, so inspiring.
That first bouquet is incredibly beautiful and I love the fact that the bouquet recipe was included as well!
What a pretty shoot. And I love the recipes too!
I love that they’re called recipes. <3
The bouquets are gorgeous! I love how well the shades of pink combine so nicely together.
What a classic bouquet recipe. And that image at the end is fantastic. I love an exuberant bride 🙂
What a great shoot. The flowers a gorgeous and while it looks cold outside, the photos are beautiful with the snow falling. Loving the scarf with the dress too!
