I’m so excited to share my Los Cabos adventures with you here today! I was beyond blessed and totally thrilled to have been invited on a press trip (along with several other wonderful wedding bloggers) to check out and review the Westin Resort and Spa Los Cabos and the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort as destinations for weddings and honeymoons.
The amazingly talented and super-sweet Chelsea LaVere of Bit of Ivory Photography accompanied me and you’re absolutely going to fall in love with her images of these resorts.
It takes a lot to get a Hawaii girl to admit that any other place outside of these islands is ideal for destination weddings and honeymoons, but Los Cabos definitely is!
First up: THE WESTIN RESORT AND SPA LOS CABOS
(read part two with the Sheraton here )
THE PROPERTY
… is gorgeous and secluded.
The Westin Resort and Spa Los Cabos is situated in a unique location and designed to perfection. The modern architecture is fabulous and the colors are amazing. The best word for it is ‘cool.’ It really is such a cool place.
FOR HONEYMOONERS
This resort is set apart from the others in Los Cabos so it has a more secluded feeling. In the mornings and at night all you hear is the ocean. It’s lovely! The rooms are stylish, clean, and ideal for honeymooners. Every room in this hotel has an epic view of the ocean and it all felt very grown up, very now.
I loved this place.
Of the two resorts The Westin Resort and Spa Los Cabos had more couples than families (in fact… I’m having a hard time remembering seeing any children there at all) which is a honeymoon plus in my book.
MUST DOS:
Explore the property
Go sailing
Sip margaritas at the swim-up bar
Stroll along the beach
Dine at Arrecifes
Sleep in
Relax with a book and your beau
Transcabo not only picked us up at the airport (HIGHLY recommend them – they took so much stress out of the whole airport transfer process) but they also treated us to a luxury sail with Cabo Adventures.
The sail was fantastic and it allowed you to get up close and personal with the iconic natural arch and sea lion colonies. The crew kept the drinks and delicious food coming, music playing, and it was so much fun! A sailing adventure is an awesome pre- or post- wedding activity with your guests AND a definite must for honeymooners.
The restaurant at the Westin, Addicefes, is absolutely fabulous. Their fresh fish was delicious, the attention to detail was magnificent, and the plating was a work of art.
FOR WEDDINGS
The Westin Resort and Spa Los Cabos has a fabulous al fresco wedding area (and since Los Cabos is a desert, you never have to worry about rain on your big day).
Along with the exceptional staff at the Westin, The Main Event Cabo designed a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception area and treated us all to one of the most delicious meals I had there: lobster, lamb, and a huge array of hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails, and desserts.
The purples, greys, and silvers of the wedding reception and ceremony design mimicked the colors of the sunset and the entire evening was magical. It’s a definite YES for destination weddings!
OVERALL
For your honeymoon: YES. The Westin Resort and Spa Los Cabos is perfect for it. Book your honeymoon here.
For your wedding: YES. They can accommodate huge or small weddings and the Westin is fabulous if your wedding guests are mostly adults. Plan your destination wedding here.

Flights, accommodations, the excessive amounts of tequila I consumed, activities, transportation, and food were all provided by the Westin Resort and Spa Los Cabos. All opinions, raves, and rants are my own.

The architecture is so fun and sleek! Surprisingly, the location seems tranquil, not annoyingly crowded like other popular beach destinations. I feel relaxed just looking at these gorgeous photos. Who wouldn’t want to honeymoon or get hitched here?
It was really tranquil – totally relaxing. None of that spring break atmosphere (thank goodness)
So, so pretty! I’ve definitely enjoyed hearing about your trip from you and Stephanie!
I think I can overcome my husband’s “I don’t want to go to Mexico” attitude just by showing him these photos! …..wedding anniversary here we come.
YES! I second all of that.
I seriously never was a beach resort person EVER…. until the Westin in Cabo. The people, the food, the everything was phenomenal. <3
Okay, first off – loved your review. Second off – these photos are beyond beautiful – Kudos Chelsea! Next time I get offered a press trip, I’m taking you with me 🙂 lol.
And lastly, I really like your disclaimer about the excessive amounts of tequila being on the house 🙂 Too funny!
Aww, thank you, Chrissy! <3 So sad we missed meeting you this trip! Hopefully next time! 🙂
Wish you could have made it!
Lovely recap and Chelsea’s images are gorgeous as well. Such a fun trip! I can’t wait for the next one 🙂
Gorgeous! Looks – and sounds – like it was amazing! I can’t get over the design….so well done. (Yes, I’d recommend a kid-free honeymooning spot…ours wasn’t and, well….we had a very uncomfortable moment…haha!)
LOL – that’s a story I want to hear over a glass of wine 😉
I was sold when I got to the second picture. That pool, the view….paradise! Thanks for sharing this! We’ve been debating on resorts to visit on our next trip, and I think I just found it. <3
That’s such fabulous news! You will love it – guarantee it!
