One of the awesome things about this press trip to Los Cabos, Mexico that I went on with Chelsea of Bit of Ivory Photography was that we visited two resorts and they were both very different. Catch up on part 1 (with the Westin) here, and stick around now for part two covering the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort!
THE PROPERTY
… has an amazing old world vibe to it. With Spanish style architecture and gorgeous details around every corner, exploring the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar was a charming adventure!
The central courtyard is breathtaking and would make for epic wedding portraits. The Sheraton also felt very family friendly while still being romantic, so if your destination wedding includes lots of kids, this is the place for you.
The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean, and Chelsea and I treated ourselves to room service more frequently than I’d like to admit. Sitting out on our private patio in the morning to eat breakfast while enjoying the view was an amazing way to start the day.
There are several pools at the Sheraton all looking out over the ocean and the resort is centrally located along the tourist corridor in Los Cabos, making it convenient for adventures beyond the property and shopping.

DE CORTEZ GRILL AND RESTAURANT
During one of our evenings there we were treated to an amazing meal at the Sheraton’s finest dining option – De Cortez Grill and Restaurant.
We started the night at the outdoor seating area where Daryl Currie played guitar while delicious cheeses, homemade beet jams, meats, and breads were served along with (of course) – tequila!
The Main Event Cabo beautifully designed the banquet style reception table with blush and white flowers, grey linens, and sparkling silver details. The meal we were served was one of the best I’ve ever had. The smoked corn soup will always be a favorite of mine!
De Cortez Grill and Restaurant is a must-go-to for couples seeking romance on their honeymoon, or if you have a small to medium-sized destination wedding – for the reception. The beach is right there and it’s beautiful. I vote: ceremony on the beach, reception dinner at De Cortez to follow. It truly was a perfect, magical evening.
CAKES
Deena from Sweet Dreams Cabo came and gave us all a hands-on tutorial about cake decorating. Chelsea really went to town on ours and created a beautifully textural design. The entire activity was a lot of fun and we got to admire several of Deena’s extraordinary creations. If you’re looking for a unique cake for your Cabo destination wedding – Deena is the one to call!
WEDDING CEREMONY
The Sheraton Hacienda del Mar has a super cute yet seriously gorgeous chapel where you can opt to have your wedding ceremony. It’s ornate, romantic, private, and still spacious enough for your guests. I really loved all the woodwork in there, especially the door…
BEACH BONFIRE
My favorite night in Los Cabos was the beach bonfire night. It’s perfect for a laid-back and fun beach style destination wedding, or for pretty much any event.
The talented chefs at the Sheraton set up a huge array of hors d’oeuvres and a grill with skewers of everything from veggies to lamb, tuna, and octopus. There were also at least 10 different sauces to go along with each, and I ate an embarrassing amount of everything.
Oh – and the desserts and signature cocktails?! Wow.
The Main Event Cabo styled the area and created a cozy outdoor space along the beach with benches around a bonfire, chic cocktail tables, hanging lanterns, and colorful centerpieces. It ending up being an epically memorable night!
OVERALL
Because I was there with a bunch of other wonderful women I kept thinking about how amazing the whole experience at the Sheraton would be for a bachelorette getaway. Spa treatments, pool time, cake decorating, beaches… so much fun!
Whatever you decide to go to the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos for (wedding, honeymoon, bachelorette party, all of the above) – I guarantee you that you’ll have a blast.
