new twist on jewel tones

Jewel toned weddings can be beautiful, fresh, whimsical, and modern when done right. Today’s jewel toned wedding inspiration board shows one way to do just that!

The jewel tones are sapphire blue, emerald-green, ruby-red, amethyst purple, and topaz – which sort of has a gold look to it. Most of the time when brides think of jewel tones the look of the wedding can get dated and bogged down with too much ‘dark.’

In this jewel toned wedding inspiration board I tried to lighten up the look with a gorgeous white wedding dress and a trio of white wedding cakes. An outdoor reception will also keep things soft and natural.

The five jewel tones are woven throughout the wedding details in this inspiration board, with most of the emerald coming from nature. One of my favorite details has to be flower garlands on the reception chairs and on the vintage china. That pinkish red ruby color is too awesome!

A close second are the wedding invitations and the backdrop behind the cake. The watercolor & pastel look of each of them adds a touch of whimsy that is never amiss at a wedding!
