I don’t know about you but I’m super excited to see Disney’s new live action feature Maleficent! Today’s wedding inspiration shoot from Palette of Petals and Bit of Ivory Photography takes this eerily beautiful story and transforms it into a hauntingly gorgeous wedding. Weird has never looked so good!
From Chelsea at Bit of Ivory Photography – “Inspired by Disney’s upcoming live action Maleficent movie, Mary and Shannon of Palette of Petals in Virginia Beach, Virginia conceptualized and created a gorgeously haunting scene with its leading lady. With a dragon sculpted and wired out of driftwood as the piece de resistance and an ebony Silkie chicken as her raven-like companion, they imagined a raw and natural wedding scene paired with shadowy environs. While the film has yet to reveal its true storyline, it hints at a similar one like Elphaba of Wicked fame: when good turns ‘evil.’ And so, ‘visions are seldom all they seem’ set the course.

So stunning and perfect!
I LOVE Bit of Ivory’s photography! And what an amazing styled shoot. It really evokes a magical feeling!
Stunning – I love the drama
Thank you so much, Christie! <3
AHHH! Thank you so much for the feature on such a perfect timely day, Sara! The creative team was phenom, and I was honored to be a part of it! <3
I absolutely love how Chelsea gave the images this dramatic, dark and mysterious feel. Awesome job by everyone involved!
Only another photog would pick that up! And yay! So glad someone else noticed; it definitely required a different type of editing! I may or may not have been listening to Evanescence to channel the spooky… 🙂
LOL
Such a gorgeously moody shoot – I love the hair ‘horns’ in reference to the movie!
Haunted and gorgeous is the perfect description. It’s beautiful and so intriguing. So, very well executed. The goat, owl, dead & crooked branches – not to mention the photography – it’s haunting and gorgeous 😉
Exactly the perfect words for it! Makes me want to see the movie even more.
I love how dark yet still beautiful this is!
Brilliant styling and photography! There are so many creative elements. I especially love the driftwood dragon! Oh, and the ravenesque chicken. Where can I get one of those?
Thank you!! The chicken is a black Silkie. They are very sweet and gentle. 🙂
This is so much fun…and definitely perfect timing!
What a great concept, and as Stephanie mentioned, perfect timing. How cute is the floral neck piece?
This is absolutely incredible! I could spend all day just looking at these perfectly done details – from the eyelashes to the floral necklaces! I just was looking at my own Alliums today thinking I’d like to do some kind of cool sculptural arrangement – and then I see this centerpiece! Amazing!
This is absolutely amazing! Such original and perfectly executed details!!
Incredible shoot!
Amazing! Absolutely gorgeous all around!
