wedding insurance: you need it

There are a million reasons to have wedding insurance that brides never think of until it’s too late. You’re spending as much as you would on a car and you wouldn’t drive your car without insurance so why would you plan your wedding without insurance?

Markel Event Insurance provides coverage for things like venue bankruptcy (seriously – what happens if your venue closes down a week before your wedding?!), health emergencies for the bride, groom or immediate family members, military deployment, vendor no-shows, and natural disasters. Cancellations happen… and not because something happened between you and your fiancé. Markel Event Insurance will help you get your non-refundable deposits back should have to cancel or reschedule your event due to an unforeseen circumstance.

With destination weddings being SO popular here in Hawaii, having coverage in case of a tidal swell, hurricane (knock on wood), mud slides, and everything else we sometimes have to deal with out here is a must. There was a super swell this past winter here on Oahu and literally part of the North Shore washed away. Several popular estates that were used for weddings and private events were rendered unusable overnight. Should you have to relocate your wedding – Markel Event Insurance will help you get your deposit back and cover any additional expense involved in moving your wedding, whether you have to move it up the road, across the island, or to another day entirely.

If you do find that you need to cancel or postpone your wedding, Markel will provide reimbursement for transportation, catering, property and equipment rentals, venue rental, special attire, photography, videography, and even your entertainers.

Not only that but Markel Event Insurance has your back if things get stolen from your event (like the wedding gifts or those priceless pearls you borrowed from your mother!) as well as offering wedding liability coverage for such things as guest misconduct. With an open bar in play and your beau’s fraternity brothers there…  seriously – you never know what could happen on the dance floor.

More and more venues are starting to require wedding liability insurance (like art museums, wineries, reception halls, etc.) and Markel has that too for as little as $75. They’ve seriously thought of everything. Don’t wait around on this – call 1-855-480-9757 or visit Markel Event Insurance to get your quote today.

  1. Loved seeing more photos of this gorgeous shoot!

Wedding insurance is a must! I decided that last year after the flooding disaster in Colorado. And then there’s the issue of venue bankruptcies. Just last week, a popular Brooklyn venue closed abruptly and unexpectedly, leaving 200 couple s*** out of luck. So, yeah, wedding insurance is
    definitely worth it.

    • Oh my gosh, that’s awful, Lauren! My heart just dropped hearing that.

Yesss to insurance absolutely and double check all contracts before signing!

  2. Always best to be prepared 🙂
