This exceptionally stylish and alternative wedding inspiration shoot, conceptualized and designed by Ashley of Attention 2 Details Events is the definition of cool. Each and every shot by Chantel Marie Photography is going to wow you. The concept behind this shoot (edgy femininity) is striking and it’s pulled off absolutely flawlessly!
From Ashley of Attention 2 Details Events – “I wanted to create a look that exuded a femininity and prettiness, but had an edge for a bride and groom that wanted something different. I used a variety of pink shades to help bring out a softer side, but paired it with black and white stripes, leather, and even studded details to bring out more of an edgy look.
The fashion was definitely a highlight of this shoot. Most brides don’t think to incorporate menswear into the wedding party on anything other than the men, but I wanted to show couples that you don’t have to put your bridesmaids in dresses! Your bridal party can look just as chic, and still very feminine in classic tuxedo pants and crisp button-down shirts.
To dress up the women’s attire we fitted them with studded bow ties and paired the same bow ties on the men. The finished look was polished, classic, and still feminine. I also topped our bride’s gorgeous gown off with a fitted black blazer. Who says you can’t have fun with your wedding day look? It’s a great way to provide a little bit of unexpected drama for the bride!”
From Ashley – “For the table I paired black and white striped La Travola linens with gorgeous floral centerpiece, studded votives, geometric plates (placed off-balance with each other to give the table more depth and texture), smoked glass, and ghost chairs to give it a modern and cool vibe.
I created two super easy DIYs for the table. First I gave the flatware an updated and unique look just by wrapping a simple coil of bendable wire in hot pink to the stems of each piece. I also dyed the napkins to match our color scheme by dip-dying them to create a bleed effect in the center of each napkin. When placed on the table, they helped to bring out our pop of pink color.
The menus, place cards, and table numbers were created using a black and white motif and a very modern design to bring out an edgy feel to the table.”
“The cake was a very simple white fondant tiered cake, topped with a pink fondant blossom, but it also added some edge with a black fondant band and silver studded details. The cake was displayed on top of a vintage firearms shipping crate.
The caterer wanted to balance the menu with some fun and edgy selections that would be unexpected and would be sure to surprise any guest! To drink, Bailey’s with dark coffee ice cubes was served, along with two variations on Kahlua shooters – one topped with a white powdered donut bite, the other served with a salted dark chocolate mini cookie.
Gourmet jello shooters were also served and the layered colors and flavors looked very modern against the white serving platters.
The menu consisted of Forbidden Risotto Cake with Goat Cheese and Mini Chopped Beets, Zebra Pasta with Pomegranate Cream Sauce and Ahi-Tuna with Balsamic Reduction Glaze. The risotto and pasta were stained with squid ink!”

Ooh, I love! Especially those chic bridesmaids!
I’m not sure I’ll ever love black lipstick, but this shoot is very cool! I adore the studded bow ties and cake!
I am a big fan of this! I love the black lipstick and the black ice in that drink. Such nice touches.
Love them too! And I wish coffee flavored ice cubes were what came out of the ice cube dispenser on my freezer. How epic would that be?!
I seriously adore the jacket over the floofy wedding dress!
I’d totally want to be a guest at a wedding like this! The team who put this together killed it with the styling. Those studded bow ties rock. And the Baileys over dark coffee ice cubes? So on board with that!
One of my favorite shoots ever! Ashley, Chantel and the entire team were fabulous. The models really did a knockout job on this one. Thanks for the feature, my friend!
I love the black and white with pink accents! I don’t know if I could pull off the black lipstick, but the rest is delightful!
WOW I love everything about this shoot! Such a creative take on wedding decor.
The bridesmaids in pants? Seriously, that’s just awesome. I echo Lauren’s statement, the coffee concoction sounds ridiculously good! Such a FAB shoot!
I have to agree – I can’t pull off black lipstick personally but it’s so fun to see it in this shoot!
Wow! The flowers totally balance this shoot out. I love that the entire bridal party is wearing tuxes. I love the lines on the bodice of that wedding gown. And I love the rich and dark cocktails. So well done!
So striking! I love the cake and the bride’s dark lips!
Nailed it. In the non-bad Pinterest kind of way! Seriously, impeccable styling and flawless execution. Bravo, creative team! 🙂
So edgy and chic!
Wow! Nothing short of perfect. Such a modern way to add monochrome to a wedding.
This is the most awesome thing I’ve seen in a long time! So right in every way!
I’m not a fan of the dark lipstick, but the shoot is beautiful.
