Outdoor weddings are some of my favorites here on Burnett’s Boards – you really can’t beat natural light for a beautiful wedding day! There are loads of ways to make your outdoor wedding unique – from a simple affair in a forest to a more lavish setup right in your own backyard.
Two outdoor and backyard wedding styles that I love are Farm to Table Chic and Residential Ballroom and both styles are showcased here today!
Farm to Table style weddings are really popular right now with the local / organic food movement. A wedding styled with this look in mind would feature wooden tables and natural, seasonal flowers from local growers. Brides who gravitate toward this style of wedding usually go either modern and glamorous or more vintage and barn-inspired.
The tablescape and bouquet above and below from Nancy Lin Chin Floral & Event Design showcases one such farm to table look. It has a rustic sensibility and a natural color palette but also incorporates modern and glam wedding-worthy details. No matter what look you go for, farm to table-themed weddings work well in vineyards, open fields, and of course – at farms!
A Residential Ballroom style wedding is the perfect way to combine both of your worlds: the glamour of a ballroom wedding with the privacy and comfort of your own backyard. It’s a unique look that mixes natural elements with more modern ones. Your guests have a beautifully decorated place to relax that’s both informal and elegant.
The setups below showcase the work of Nikki Kroman of Toast Events. She used a variety of differently shaped tables, multi-level centerpieces, and created an environment on a backyard patio that’s all about getting your guests to mix and mingle!
No matter where your outdoor wedding is taking place, there are ways to style it and make it as glamorous or as rusticly-chic as you’d like. Be sure to view 5 more ideas and shoots showcasing ways to design your al fresco wedding here!
Both beautiful styles for sure!
