With plenty of color, a stunning black wedding dress, and details that simply couldn’t be any more perfect – Dana Fernandez Photography’s Dia De Los Muertos wedding inspiration shoot is an exquisite celebration that just has to be seen to be believed!
From Dana Fernandez Photography – “Although Dia De Los Muertos is associated with the dead, it’s quite the opposite – a celebration of life! A vibrant celebration full of color, food, and mucho fiesta!
Chad Cornwall of Flower Power Productions selected different shapes and textures in vivid, colorful blooms – dahlias, roses, marigolds, pincushion, protea and celosia – creating an exotic and rustic combination with a southwestern touch of cacti and succulents. Marigolds were a must as it believed the blooms guide spirits to their altars using their vibrant colors and scent. The marigold crown popped off the contrast of the black, dramatic velvet gown by Damsel White Label.”
From Dana Fernandez Photography – “Our bride mirrored Frida Kahalo in style and spirit and was drop dead gorgeous – no pun intended!
Stationary by Nib & Pixel was kept spirited and colorful – featuring the iconic sugar skill in a bright watercolor. To balance the tablescape from all the lively color, we incorporated natural neutrals – wood, mixed metals, stone and terracotta in the vessels, chairs and the table.
For dessert, a minimalist cake with rich blooms and traditional Mexican cookies. Dead or alive – I would attend this celebration in a heartbeat!”

I am totally obsessed with that dark velvet gown! Wow!
I love everything about this shoot!
So pretty! I LOVE the gown and all the bright colors.
Just beautiful!
This is perfectly styled for a sophisticated bride. It’s so easy for themes to get costumey and “off beat” but this remains elegant and artful while “capturing the spirit” of the day.
I adore the colors in this – and the black dress is perfection!
So many fun colors! And there’s even your little Katrina! 🙂
Chad Cornwall of Flower Power Productions is a visionary genius 🙂
That gown is stunning! Love the broken pottery for place cards!
