Complete with a unique color palette and to-die-for details, today’s wedding editorial shoot from Erika Delgado Photography and Bella Lilly Studio takes the best of the season and creates absolutely perfect wedding magic!
From Elizabeth Betancourt of Bella Lilly Studio – The inspiration behind this shoot is deeply rooted in my passion for all things romantic. I was also inspired by my love of the forest. Greynold’s Park in South Florida was the perfect setting for our shoot as it is lush with many native Florida plants and incorporates the old world limestone throughout the park. It also has many of my favorite intricate plants like ferns, which you see used throughout much of this editorial.
As a Florida-based floral designer I wanted to showcase fall wedding inspiration for brides getting married in some of our most popular months – November to February – by mixing unexpected color palettes, metals, woods, and natural elements.
THE FLOWERS: The bouquet was put together with a mixed color palette of peaches, plum and accented with handpicked foraged ferns from Florida’s Greynold’s Lake. The floral designs include: Juliette garden roses, patience garden roses, dark plum mini calla lilies, dark burgundy scabiosa, and burgundy fountain grass. The bouquet was accented with a lush mix of FrouFrou Chic silk ribbon and an antique grey velvet ribbon.
THE CEREMONY: For the ceremony I wanted to showcase a different type of ceremony décor that reflects both the romantic and the chic. We paired a vintage lace with a pair of old glass door panes. We attached the lace behind the glass of the doors to give a romantic sense of privacy and adorned the doors with a lush green wreath that was simple yet sophisticated. We accented the ceremony doors with some antique table pieces and adorned it with flowers and fruits.
THE DESSERTS: Nothing says elegance and romance more than lush fresh flowers adorning a simple wedding cake.
For the macarons I wanted to tie them in a subtle way to our shoot so I decided to do a watercolor technique on them. I was able to recreate the same effect as seen on the wedding invitations with some food coloring and 100 proof Aquardiente and Brandy.
THE INVITATIONS: Keeping with the romantic feel of our inspiration I wanted to showcase another aspect of romance by adding a bit of art to the invitations and as a reflection of the location we picked for this shoot. The invitations were hand-printed and water-colored on Crane Lettra Organic 100% cotton paper in a pearl color. The watercolor artist was one of the founders of Letter Press Girls – Jessica Sanchez.”
