“There’s a lot of talk about ‘Up North.’ It’s the place everyone wants to go to escape the pressures and frantic pace of life. But where is ‘Up North?’ for it is not so much a location as a state of mind. So how do you know when you’ve arrived ‘Up North?’ – When you feel the cares of the world slip away. When you begin to breathe a little easier because the air seems purer. When you notice the sky is blue and the pines are taller and the people smile a lot more. It’s then that you know you’re ‘Up North.’ “– Unknown.
From Brittany and Devin Photo Co. – “When we were dreaming up inspiration for this shoot, we knew we wanted to center it around a place that was special to our couples: the Leelanu Peninsula in Northern Michigan. Serving such a unique destination area our couples crave easy-going weddings on Lake Michigan, an open-air atmosphere, and most importantly, time to spend in one of their favorite places with family and friends.
We contrasted the natural color palette of Lake Michigan blues with locally grown garden roses and some late-blooming peonies. Our model’s dress is from BHLDN and was intentionally relaxed with delicate details that pay homage to the water. Our dream menu included seasonal foods and local wines from Leelanu Cellars.”
