From Morgan at Cornerstone Photography – “Even though this was a stylized shoot, the inspiration behind it is very real. Jeff [the groom] and I went to college together (many moons ago) and during the last summer solstice, he married his beloved, with their adorable little boy in beautiful Colorado.
Due to a short engagement I was already booked for another wedding on their day, but aspects of their wedding really inspired me to want to create a Hippy Wedding, featuring specifically geodes and feathers.”
From Morgan at Cornerstone Photography – “The shoot was originally scheduled for February, but Mother Nature wasn’t having it. So we were able to meet up a month later at the farm I grew up on. I specifically wanted to shoot in an open field, where the landscape was still dormant from winter. I wanted to show brides that even though the trees were bare and the ground was brown, it could still be magical and beautiful.
Besides playing the role of photographer and producer for this shoot I got to try my hand at decorating cakes and cupcakes (not the baking part). I made crystals out of sugar and corn syrup and strategically placed them in the frosting. It was actually really fun and a lot less nerve-racking then I imagined it would be.”
From Morgan at Cornerstone Photography – “We also got to photograph two newer vendors to the wedding scene. First being CatBoat, a hand-made one-of-a-kind dye shop in Denver, CO. They sent us the perfect tie dyed runner; which made a perfect base for our table. City Market Coffee Roasters out of Kansas City, Missouri is now able to have a mobile espresso service and was a perfect addition to our shoot. Not only did they pour some beautiful lattes, they really helped us power though the massive day long shoot. All of our wedding professionals went above and beyond for this shoot and I’m so thrilled at how it turned out!”
