From Ashley Kidder Photo – “This shoot was created entirely on the basis of a certain type of film: Kodak Portra 160, which creates soft pink undertones in its images, flawless skin coloring and ultra-refined grain control. Of all the possible wedding/bridal themes out there, I knew boho would be the perfect, romantic fit for this type of film.”
From Ashley Kidder Photo – “After I had decided on my style for the shoot, it was easy to choose the remaining vendors. Villa Parker was the perfect venue, as its Mediterranean coloring + architecture blended flawlessly with our tablescape and model. Its lush grounds (thanks in part to a torrential rainy season Colorado is still having, all the way into July) added gorgeous contrast to our set.
For our floral design, The Olive and Poppy provided a fresh mix of eucalyptus branches, carpe diem roses and carnations, keeping with our color palette of dusty pinks, soft peaches and faded forest green. Our bride’s bouquet cascaded flawlessly down the front, and we added in a cuffed arm band for a little something different. Lissy Alyse Designs crafted our paper, and I love that she added in the subtle colorings of rich lavender + sumptuous teal throughout the invites, escort cards and menu.”
From Urban Safari Photography – “Feathers provided a bit of flair to the watercolor-inspired stationery suite. Our dress came from renowned Denver bridal shop Emma + Grace Bridal Studio. We went with a sheath dress that featured delicate tulle, lace stitching and hand-crafted beadwork. Paired with a sparkling headpiece, we loved that this dress wasn’t an overstatement for an otherwise soft & romantic shoot.
For our model, Katherine, we asked our hair & makeup team, Bronze and Beautiful, to create a windswept look that wasn’t stiff or restrictive. Katherine has stunningly long blonde hair, and her natural blush makeup complemented her skin tones and hair perfectly. Event Rents provided us with a tablescape that gave the shoot a wee bit of a rustic feel, with a set of rustic wooden chairs, fleur de lis white china, ivory linens & an almost-burlap-tablecloth, and mocha-colored glass chargers. Candelight ambiance completed the look with a mixture of gold & brass lanterns, candelabras and votives. Our dessert feature of the shoot came from Kelley Kakes, who crafted a three-tier white cake with intricate fondant designs imitating the style of the dress from Emma & Grace. The cake was topped with handmade paper flowers and was a truly standout creation for this shoot.
At the end of the shoot, the ShutterBus, a local photo booth sensation, arrived to finish off the evening. Nelly, the mint-green, 1978 VW bus, was the perfect addition to the shoot, which provided a bit of whimsy and an all-around fun feeling for the shoot.”
