spanish oasis wedding ideas

From Carla Navarro of Whisk Bakery “I was given the opportunity to do a styled shoot at Agave Estates in Katy, Texas recently. I fell in love with the rich yet bright orange walls at Agave Real and the many plants and trees surrounding the venue.

The stone work on the ground and walls was just a touch of perfect as well as the oasis pool. I knew the moment I finished the tour I needed to make this shoot different from most and have my vendors think out of the box. I told all the vendors the same thing, I want this shoot bright, rich, and romantic. Most of all I want them to have fun and be creative!”

From Carla Navarro of Whisk Bakery – “As you can see in the beautiful photos by Christine Gosh, we strove to make this shoot different in my eyes. Instead of your typical chairs we used rattan ‘peacock’ chairs with a beautiful handmade lace overlay on the table surrounded by tropical greenery and flowers.

Using the orange walls as the primary color, we added in strong colors that would pop, such as yellow, pink, and green. To help balance the bright colors we used a pale blue linen on the table accompanied with black dinner plates, silver flatware, and mercury glass votives.”

From Carla Navarro of Whisk Bakery – “Our bride was dressed in a simple romantic ivory gown. I thought the gown was perfect for our bride since it showed her colorful tattoos and her short hair allowed us to see the back of the dress. We paired the gown with a fingertip lace veil that matched the lace overlay on the table.

We also had mini pineapples in flower bouquets and arrangements for a touch of fun. Our florist also made a ginger leaf bow on the spot for our miniature donkey, Jack. We then decided to run to the nearest grocery store to make colorful cocktails with mint, mango guava juice, sprite, vodka, and a pineapple garnish. To make the shoot brighter, we had two giant balloons for the bride and groom with colorful tassels. For dessert, we had two textured two tier buttercream cakes with hints of yellow and tons of colorful flowers and giant tropical leaves!”
