From Cavin Elizabeth Photography – “I’ve always valued the art of building relationships in the wedding world. When I moved from DC to San Diego, forming new relationships with fellow wedding vendors was a huge priority. Working with talented, creative, and happy professionals makes the work you do incredibly enjoyable, especially when your work also involves amazing brides and grooms!”
From Cavin Elizabeth Photography – “After about 6 months of living in San Diego, I threw the first Cavin Elizabeth Vendor Bash. The goal of the party was to create an enjoyable environment for established and new vendors in town to meet each other and further strengthen relationships. I also wanted to showcase the work of all of my sponsors, allowing for a ton of beauty to be equally important to the Vendor Bash. Because the first event was so successful in fostering industry friendships and collaborations, I soon after began planning the 2nd annual Cavin Elizabeth Vendor Bash.
Urban, chic, and sophisticated were three words I wanted to describe this year’s party, which is why I chose The Ultimate Skybox as the perfect venue that would provide a gorgeous view of San Diego! I took my inspiration for the décor, food, sweets, craft cocktails, and flowers came from my love for a black, white, blush, and gold color palette. Because everyone loves receiving tangible mail, Loren from Four Things Paper designed the most stunning invites with ultra chic black brush strokes and a strong font collection.”
“With the feminine, bold, and stylish palette, LaVonne from Adorations floralized the party with beautiful pink ranunculi, white roses, and greenery. She incorporated terrariums and gold votives that sat beautifully atop black and white Hostess Haven runners and Event Party Rental belly bars.
To accompany the gorgeous cheese and charcuterie display and delicious appetizers from A Miho Experience, Barçon created a blackberry bramble and a strawberry mule to sip in Hostess Haven glassware. Black geometric acrylic drink stirrers from The Roc Shop were added to each craft cocktail to add a final modern touch.
Incredibly popular were all of the beautiful sweets from Sweet Cheeks Baking Company. Cavin Elizabeth cookies, nutty Irishmen, and a red velvet cake were just a few of the treats everyone fell in love with at the party. I think I had at least one of everything!”
“The calligraphy menu cards from Four Things Paper added perfect pops of black and white to accompany each treat. While listening to the best non-wedding music DJ’d by Luis the Beast, guests flipped wined, dined, and flipped through my studio magazines and albums. These just so happened to sit atop a table that was adorned with the most beautiful marble backdrop by Backup Backdrops.
And no party host would be complete without a little glamorous makeup by Blush and Adore! I donned a black Banana Republic sleeveless top, a green and black Mossimo skirt, black tights, and fashionable Madewell black heels.”
“By the end of the evening, vendors became ‘friendors’ and exciting plans for collaborations were made!
In case you’re wondering what the menu was, it is as follows: Grilled Lamb Chop with salsa roja and fennel fronds / Lump Crab Fritter with sweet corn, jalapeño & avocado purée / Grilled Flat Iron Steak thinly sliced with caramelized cambazola, sesame glazed asparagus & fresh herb salad on rye crostinis / Crispy Squash Blossom stuffed with lemon ricotta and topped with a seasonal fruit marmalade & artisan cheese + charcuterie served with an assortment of fresh-baked local bread, honeycomb, house made jams, house pickled vegetables, fresh crudités, marinated olives and seasoned nuts.”
