“When she was a child, my love carried a road-map in her hand the way other girls carried handkerchiefs. She always knew the way. Her feet were little wings. And her beautiful head was a compass.” ― Roman Payne
From Elevate Events – “In today’s ever-present society of technological advancements and a constant social media presence, the sense of getting wrapped up in the ‘likeable’ moments and overall attractiveness of a wedding day is, to put it lightly, SO TEMPTING. Whether the bride and groom are tending to all of their newly blended family’s photos, the wedding party’s social media updates, or, of course, the budget, timeline and all of their other guests’ questions, a wedding day can quickly become a blur; focused on entertaining guests, family, and friends, and much less about the real meaning of the day: the new HUSBAND and WIFE. Even finding the time to steal away for a moment of serenity as a newly married couple can become a task all its own!
In this ‘Vintage Maps’ bridal inspiration shoot, we turned the focus of the day back on the bride and the groom – choosing to concentrate on those quiet, peaceful moments of a wedding day: the bride peacefully waiting for her love to arrive; the groom straightening his tie and cufflinks, and the two embracing and taking each other’s beauty in the serenity of a quaint bed and breakfast. In this inspiration shoot, the bride and the groom chose to luncheon together in solitude: feeding berries, cheeses and honey to each other and toasting to the many opportunities awaiting them before they stole away to their honeymoon and future life together.”
“To achieve this sense of serenity, romance and peace, our photographer, April Violet, chose to focus on the vintage map – neutral, classic, and elegant. We immediately drew our inspiration from the venue itself: a quaint, European-inspired bed and breakfast built during the coal era known as the Mousehole. The colors of the maps themselves also drew us in: blacks, pinks, light blues, and classic neutrals. Pair all of that with the ever-present passion between a new bride and groom, and you organically wind up with this luscious, high-end bridal inspiration.”
