From the planner, stylist, and coordinator Planning For Paradise – “When I first visited Emerson Creek in Illinois, I instantly fell in love with its rustic charm and was reminded of a simpler time. I knew that in order to highlight this quality, I would need to style the rest of the shoot with contrasting, somewhat modern elements, to evoke a sensual, romantic vibe!”
“With the above mentioned vibe in mind, I took the backdrop of this quintessential, Midwestern barn and paired it with sleek, onyx chairs to provide an unexpected ‘pop’ when placed alongside the beautiful barn wood table. Rather than a traditional white dress, we pursued the idea of alternative gowns by featuring a bold red dress designed by Kate Pankoke. At the same time, we kept our bride barefoot and our groom sockless to celebrate the laid-back feel of the rural setting.”
“Dusty pastels of peach, mauve and rose helped bring this late spring shoot to life. Cascading florals, moss-filled glassware, and a rich chocolate layer cake dripping with fresh berries all added to our romantic meets rustic vibe!”
