luxury honeymoon resort in bali

If you’re looking for a unique, luxurious honeymoon resort you definitely need to check out Komaneka at Keramas Beach in Bali. Getting to Bali can be a hike (unless you’re already on that side of the world) but believe me when I say this: the journey is worth it. The Komaneka Resorts collection includes 5 world-renowned, boutique properties in Bali (one of which just won Trip Advisor’s 2018 Traveler’s Choice award as one of the top 25 best luxury hotels in the world!) and the newest addition to their sophisticated portfolio is at Keramas Beach.

Komaneka at Keramas beach boasts elegant private pools in every villa suite and a location next to a stunningly beautiful black sand beach in a quiet, romantic part of the island away from all the crowds. The nearby village of Keramas is a very old community with royal ancestry. The village is unspoiled by over-development and has a rich local cultural life. Translation: honeymoon perfection!

THE BRAND

Komaneka Resorts are a collection of refined boutique hotels in Bali with most of the properties located in highland Ubud and their newest location at Keramas Beach. Each is carefully created to fulfill honeymooners’ and destination wedding couples’ expectations of upscale luxury lifestyle with outstanding value in a spacious hotel room or villa surrounded by the natural beauty of Bali and looked after by Komaneka’s gracious professional staff to make you feel ‘at home’. Komaneka gives an experience of both traditional Balinese culture and the leisure of a modern international lifestyle!

Komaneka is a way into the magical world of Bali. Its hospitality arises from the Balinese Hindu practice of treating their gods like honored guests, with offerings of food, flowers, music, dance, and splendor. For this reason, many ordinary Balinese are accomplished dancers, musicians, and artists. The staff are happy to share with resort guests their skills in wood-carving, dancing, and making offerings, with free classes every afternoon. Komaneka also introduces the rich and savory world of Balinese and Indonesian cuisine — completing the invitation to let Komaneka be ‘your home address in Bali.’

THE ROOMS

Calling the rooms at Komaneka at Keramas Beach ‘rooms’ is misleading. They are villas complete with private pools overlooking lush greenery that the island is famous, the beach, and you can see the island of Nusa Penida (perfect for snorkeling excursions) as well. Lounge chairs next to the pool, a cabana with cushions, and a covered patio with a mini bar, table, and other amenities greet you as you walk in. The rooms are three walls of windows and the bathrooms are massive with both indoor and outdoor showers, his and her sinks, and an oversized bathtub. The rooms are extremely private and utterly romantic!

DINING

Indonesian food is fantastic in general but Komaneka takes it to the next level. Breakfast is included with your stay and rotates between several menus, each with delicious options to choose from and all of them divine. My boyfriend and I each had to order something different each day and share everything because it was just too good to not try.

One of our favorite times at Komaneka at Keramas Beach was tea time, which is also included with your stay. Around 3 pm you can take your tea wherever you want (our favorite spot was in our private poolside cabana at our villa) and it’s not just tea, it’s several dishes of Indonesian delights.

We had dinner at the resort at Timur Kitchen which was as romantic as fine dining gets! With open walls, sea breezes, candlelight, perfect dishes, a cultivated wine and drink selection, and of course the impeccable service that Komaneka resorts are known for it, we had one of the most memorable meals of our lives there.

HONEYMOON WORTHINESS

While all of Komaneka Resorts are impeccable and perfect for honeymoons, Komaneka at Keramas Beach has a little more romance in my opinion. The expansiveness of the villas exude luxury and the private pool just takes everything to the next level. All in all – Komaneka at Keramas Beach gets an A+ and five stars as a sophisticated, luxurious boutique honeymoon destination!

While Komaneka at Keramas Beach covered our room and meals, I am not required to do anything in return. This review is a good one because I would never bother to write about or promote a destination or experience I didn’t care for. All opinions are my own.
