cozy winter bridal inspiration

From Erin Tetterton Photography – “Great Marsh is a new wedding venue whose property includes an incredible Georgian style mansion and is located less than an hour from Washington DC.  This cozy winter wedding inspiration shoot was styled around Georgian architecture and the Romantic period, including the works of poets such as Lord Byron and John Keats.

We worked diligently to include local, custom, & artisan made pieces in nearly every category.  Through this process, I realized that working with local artisans to create unique one of a kind pieces came at a surprisingly lower cost more often than working with large national brands and has the added benefit of supporting our local community.  Everything from the dress and jewelry to the paint (yes, the actual paint) used in the watercolor piece was produced locally in the greater Washington DC area!”

“The Bride’s custom gown was designed by Fruwah Boma-Chapman of Sera Vero Nik.  Made of 100% dupioni silk, the dress is designed to bustle from full length to cocktail length with a simple drawstring.  As every winter bride needs, this dress was topped with a custom velvet jacket and vintage fur collar.

Both the ring and the headpiece were custom pieces from local jeweler, Alexandria & Co.  The ring is an east/west set morganite stone in a modern yellow gold setting.”

“Michelle of Misa Floral brought back the warmth of summer with a mix of both dried and fresh blooms.  Loosely inspired by the Wabi Sabi movement, Michelle embraces the imperfections of dried flowers and seamlessly composes them with fresh.

Inspired by architecture and pastry trends from the Georgian Period, Danielle of Fleur and Flour designed a cake using molded icing and cake lace. The desert tablescape and mantel installation was also designed by Michelle of Taffy Floral using a mix of dried & fresh flowers and a selection of vintage pieces from Something Vintage Rentals.”
